Designing and Development of Organization Succession Plan for Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK) in Dhaka under Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK)

Narrative Description of the Project:

In order to enhance organizational strength and continue an effective workforce DSK planned to continue uninterrupted workflow to achieve organizational target and goal.  To continue uninterrupted workflow, and to achieve organizational targets and goals IPTM designed and developed an Organizational Succession Plan for Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK). The period of this assignment was from January to March 2022. For this assignment, IPTM successfully conducted 24 KII sessions followed by two workshops organized with a total of 40 participants. The main objective of the assignment is to ensure continuity, identify critical positions, understand the organization's competency levels, recognize the potential and workforce development, and get valuable insights into the workforce and departments of DSK following this Succession Plan.   

 

Key Activities:

  • To clarify reasons for developing a succession plan that truly meets DSK’s needs.
  • Identify significant business challenges in the next five years for DSK.
  • To identify the main factors that may influence DSK’s succession plan.
  • Identify key positions that are critical to the DSK's operational activities and strategic objectives.
  • Identify competencies, skills, and institutional knowledge that are critical success factors for DSK.
  • Define the competencies and motivational profile existing and required to undertake the identified positions.
  • Develop a knowledge transfer plan to retain the knowledge that individuals possess before departing the organization.
  • Develop a pool of talent to step into key positions through targeted career development strategies
  • Validation workshop on the findings and draft report and process of succession plan.
